STRONG cocktail

Laetitia Casta
and Azzedine Alaïa
by Peter Lindbergh
U.S. Harper's Bazaar March 2010

The sunset of the previous photograph "Mad about Alaia" [Fou d'Alaia]
has disappeared to make way for Azzedine Alaïa [عز الدين عليّة‎]
at the feet of the Goddess Laetitia.

Even in the U.S., the Harper's Bazaar journalist Lisa Armstrong does not talk about Laetitia as supermodel but as actress
quoting her recent movie about Serge Gainsbourg.

Alaïa makes more mysterious the end of a word on the wall just below "STRONG."
The journalist gives as clue for the author of the painting in background, Julian Schnabel:
One must decipher "Milton, Puffy clouds and STRONG cocktails" 2003, Oil, resin on polyester.

Julian Schnabel is also the film director of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly [Le Scaphandre et le papillon]
starring Emmanuelle Seigner and Mathieu Amalric (Pascal Thomas' The Big Apartment, Tsai Ming-Liang's Face,
his face was too known to play the role of Gainsbourg in the Joann Sfar's movie).

Between Laetitia and Alaïa, is flowing the purple rain.
