    Colomba at Occi
by Marianne Rosenstiehl
Corsica 1998

Marianne Rosenstiehl shot Laetitia in Corsica, for the Marianne of the French Republic, on the shootings of movies.

I like to photograph only people. All people, famous, beautiful, the very simple too.
People who have an out of common feature.

I like to be close to them to the nearest point, almost to feel their breath, listen to them, watch them in fragments, and then let the meeting take place.

To make the picture that will be the true picture of this moment of their lives, I must hear if they will need that I am highly directive, very specific in my requests and my instructions or if instead they want to evolve the most freely as possible.
In one case as in the other I am totally available to capture them, to accompany them.

I came to photography in my adolescence because I was in love with a boy and I could not tell him.
I borrowed a camera and pretending to shoot my friends from high school, I could bring home treasured images of him. I have not told the coils in the lab of the neighborhood and I broke my piggy bank to buy a development chamber and a small magnifier. That's how I entered in the dark and the light.

20 years later I still have the same stage fright, the same apprehension, the same great excitement and even fun to do and discover images.
I trained on the job while working.
For Liberation in a B & W reports, then as assistant to a photographer ad car for technical achievements, and then Starfix and Première I started a real job with portraits of actors and actresses.
In 85, after the photos of the film Beneix 37.2 °, I joined the Sygma agency where I worked in happiness with Monique Kouznetzof until 98.
