Face to the mirror

Laetitia
Interview about Face
Comme Au Cinéma
April 2009

While the moon was in the water, the flower in the mirror is Laetitia
in this interview close to a mirror for the Tsai Ming-Liang's movie Face in April 2009 before the Cannes Film Festival:

Laetitia
Interview about Face
April 2009

How could she burst into tears because she does not see the stag?

Every morning she preferred to discover what the film director expected.

So the previous night, she did have neither nightmare nor dream.
In fact she did not need to dream about the movie because she was in the dream or the ... nightmare.

Ming-Liang is someone extremely instinctive, the second time we met, in three words in one sentence, he described me, all my working years past.

I found myself completely laid bare...
I do not say the words he said because it is personal, but I realized that with this man, anyway, I should not resist, because he saw everything...

Je me suis retrouvée complètement mise à nue...

It's Ming-Liang's poetry, which carried me.
What I felt strongly is that, through me, I had the impression that I spoke of Ming-Liang's emotion, of his emotion.

He used me. I was just a kind of electron, like that, which enabled him to say what he had to say.

I was the puppet of the director, but this time in all its beauty, I have no problem saying that because it is very pleasant.
