Promesse

Laetitia Casta
Promesse Cacharel Paris
by Stéphane Sednaoui

More than a fragrance, a promise...

For the mood of this timeless visual shot in Montmartre by Stéphane Sednaoui for Cacharel US 2005,
listen to the Georges Brassens’ song for a Valentine's day: "the lovers who smooch [se bécotent] on public benches"
illustrated with humour in the following short movie:

"les amoureux des bancs publics", a film by Pauline Kalioujny and Mattia Listowski.

This song is about the universal subject of the benches lovers.
Very conscious that this music engenders inevitably a whole series of clichés,
we tempted a contemporary second reading of the text, while keeping the graphic origins of the evoked motive.

It is above all a question of enjoying itself with the cliché by mixing it, with a current creativity:
create a not redundant poetic illustration with a textual and musical structure with strongly cyclic character, as a ritournelle.

For these purposes, a more experimental part finds completely its place here.
A mixture of photos, pixilation and stop motion, on which are transplanted full of life graphics,
volume and sequences made with animation stand.
